2013 is right around the corner and that means it’s time to start planning the often dreaded New Year’s Resolution. Here at Tabanero, we’ve been busy brainstorming the top ways to make them a smashing success!
All that holiday ham, Christmas cake, and New Years alcohol tends to drag you down for what feels like weeks on end. Start your year off right with a healthy eating routine! At first, a change in diet might be difficult to begin and seem even tougher to maintain. Sometimes all it takes is one weak moment of indulging in a 1,000 Calorie Burger from your favorite fast food joint, and all hope feels forgotten. The best way to counteract this is by taking baby steps. Don’t try to lose all that weight too fast. Depriving yourself of everything delicious will most likely end in you ditching the diet altogether. Portion size is key; if the office gals are going to pick up some wings for a Friday afternoon treat, eat one or two, making sure to mix in some your favorite Healthy HEAT, as well as a couple carrot and celery sticks.
Spend More Time with Family & Friends!
50% of Americans vow to appreciate loved ones and spend more time with family and friends this year. Make plans to meet up with friends for an evening of fun with some wings, nachos, and other tasty appetizers. Learn Something New!
Have you vowed to make this year the year to learn something new? Whether you want to take a new course or read a new book, you’ll find education to be one of the easiest, most motivating New Year’s resolutions to keep. Most local colleges and universities offer distance learning and adult education programs. Or if the arts are more your thing, head to a nearby museum or arts center for adult level classes.
Add Exercise to Your Daily Routine!
If you’re not a very active person, you don’t need to morph from couch potato to gym-obsessed. Most of your weight loss is going to come from reduced calorie intake. Exercising three or four times a week — whether this is jogging, working out at the gym or taking an aerobics or dance class — will help speed up your metabolism, which means your body will burn calories more quickly. Terrified of a strenuous workout? Try taking a leisurely walk every day — a mile will suffice.
