Spicy Guinness BBQ Sauce


1/2 medium red onion, minced
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
1 bottle Guinness beer
1/4 tbls chili powder
1/2 tbls garlic powder
1/2 whole grain mustard
2 cups chili sauce
1 tbls Tabanero sauce
1 cup ketchup



1. In a large pot over high heat, sweat the onions until translucent.

2. Add brown sugar, chili powder, garlic powder, and beer while continually stirring.

3. After 2 minutes, add all other ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer while stirring often so the sauce does not stick and burn to the pot. Reduce until thickened and add salt and pepper to taste.
